GLOSSARY OF PRISON TERMS
Gag Order: An order by a court not to publicly release specifically identified information. General Area Search: Search of any area such as visiting areas, living units, work rooms, corridors, classrooms, elevators, storage areas, grounds or any common areas not specifically assigned to an offender. General Educational Development (GED): A diploma received for successfully passing the high school equivalency test, covering the following areas; writing skills, social studies, science, literature and mathematics. Gift Pack: Staple items ordered from a designated vendor by offenders' family and friends via the Internet, mail order, or phone purchases for DOC offenders. Group Disturbance: The disruption or interference of normal facility operations resulting from four or more offenders participating in actions, threats, demands, or suggestions to advocate disruption or disturbance. |
